Approached by MAP, Dr. Oumzil noted that the full effectiveness of the first two doses of the anti-Covid-19 vaccine remains dependent on a third injection, explaining that the so-called “Booster” dose provides sufficient immunity to the human body against new Omicron strain.Vaccination, he continues, remains the only way to fight against the spread of the pandemic and the different variants of the virus. If the new variant is less virulent than the others, the fact remains that it is more contagious, hence the need to respect individual and collective health measures, while being vaccinated. In this regard, the specialist warned against any relaxation of citizens in respecting barrier gestures, judging it necessary to be vigilant to prevent a risk of epidemiological deterioration, given the significant contagiousness of the Omicron strain.Addressing the achievements made in anti-Covid vaccination, Dr. Oumzil urged citizens to massively integrate into the vaccination campaign with in particular the third dose of the vaccine, believing that this step is essential to win the fight against pandemic.
