Advances in technology and basic research have greatly increased our understanding of disease biology and expanded the opportunities for therapeutic intervention in a variety of diseases. My focus is translating this knowledge into validated targets for drug discovery and development. My expertise is in early stage drug discovery for novel, complex targets and systems. I specialize in assay development, high-throughput screening, and lead optimization and characterization. One particular area of interest is utilizing novel technologies to improve the physiological relevance of early stage drug discovery assays.
